Identifying message tone - Whats is it?

The first thing you do is check first what kind of ringtones does your phone supports: mp3, wav, midi, polytones, realtones, amr, and etc. Some phone models support a certain kind of ringtone. Some phones support midi and polytones only and doesn't accept mp3's and realtones. Some models support all kinds of ringtones. Some phones are finicky. They allow you to play all sorts of music/ media file BUT the phone model itself only allows a specific type of ringtone to be used. Why don't you check with a phone dealer or website. Perhaps they can answer your query better.

I have a cousin who has a nokia phone. Don't know the model though. She can play any music/ media file BUT her phone model only allows her to use midi or polytones as ringtones. Why don't you check with a Nokia dealer or website. Perhaps they can answer your query better.

You have two options.

1. Buy a software program that can edit and convert music files. I used MAGIX music editor. It's a bit high brow and complicated. However, there are other music software programs that you can download that are simpler. Use it to create your personal ringtone.

2. Use the ringtone maker here at zedge. Upload your personal recorded sound/ clip. Edit it. Download it back to your PC and phone. Then quickly erase/ delete your upload from your upload gallery.

To all the NOOBS:

The first thing you do is check first what kind of ringtones does your phone supports: mp3, wav, midi, polytones, realtones, amr, and etc. Some phone models support a certain kind of ringtone. Some phones support midi and polytones only and doesn't accept mp3's and realtones. Some models support all kinds of ringtones. If your phone doesn't support the ringtone you like, then don't download it!

Second, you can download ringtones through the web via USB cable or bluetooth (if your laptop has a bluetooth). Download it to your PC and send the ringtone via bluetooth or USB to your phone. If your phone doesn't come with a USB cable, buy one. If your PC/ laptop doesn't have a bluetooth, buy one.

Third, sometimes after downloading your ringtone in your phone (especially in some nokia models) you have to search for the item where it was placed. Some models have software that don't automatically place the downloaded item (ringtone) inside the music/ media folder.

Fourth, if the ringtone sounds like a squeeky chipmunk, then it's your phones fault. Nokia is known for ugly speakers. If you want a nice stereo sound for your ringtone, buy a sony ericsson walkman phone or something similar.

I've been downloading here at zedge for over a year (so with other sites). I never had any problems with themes, wallpapers, and ringtones.
