You can add new themes. SBSH and Ecko Papers has a few (google for them) Installing them is pretty easy.

Connect through activesync and run the add / remove from there (under tools) Also a soft reset (power off then on again) will remove the icons. Some programs are not fully removed until a restartIf the icons are still present. Connect to activesync then navigat to your devices /windows/start menu folder and you can delete the icons from there. However if the icons are still showing the applications picture then the application is not actually removed.

Press the reset button (with your stylus) at the botton of phone + press standby button at the right of phone together.
If its not a hardware issue it should restore and start back up.
