Edward Cullen Leaving Bella

I led her not far, into the woods,
I noticed the flowers, the leaves and the buds,
She trailed along, with her hand in mine,
The warmth of her skin was simply divine,
She looked at me with concern in her eyes,
How would she ever, believe my lies?
However she talked, wanting to know,
What was my secret, why was I low,
I looked in her eyes, and my face turned to stone,
My body went rigid, voice lowered in tone,
I couldn’t carry on, hurting her so,
Her face was pained, and filled with sorrow,
She was in danger, just by me,
Staying with her, to satisfy needs,
Why am I, so selfish inside?
Why can’t I leave her, to get on with her life?
I told her my feelings, fake as they were,
However I wanted, to only deter,
I ignored my heart, and followed my head,
I’d finished my speech, everything was said,
I could see, she would never let go,
But I turned to her, and told her to go,
Live the life, of a teenage girl,
Go out for a party, give it a whirl,
But on her feet, she looked unsteady,
I was ready to go, finally ready,
I kissed her once more, and made her a deal,
I ran away, before she was my next meal,
I ran for miles, far away,
All the time hoping, that she was okay,
I could feel the pain, rip throughout me,
And our distance, was the only key,
I needed her, to feel whole once more,
I felt empty inside, right down to my core,
But this is for her, to keep her safe,
I had to trust her, keep my faith
