I am sorry for the problems. We are workiing hard to make sure that ToneSync are working for everyone. Hopefully we can sort out the problems with your help.
From what i understand MDW1957, your app just wont launch at all, or it crashes instantly?
Ypu can try to delete all ToneSync settings by typing the following in the terminal: rm ~/Library/Preferences/net.zedge.*
If that does not solve anything, try and open the "Console" (just type "Console" in the spotlight search) Then try and launch ToneSync and see if you see anything related to ToneSync in the console log?
Hello I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with ToneSync.
Since you are able to reinstall iTunes i am guessing you are using a windows computer, since this is not possible on the macs? Also, it seems you have been able to link your phone to TS, and complete the tutorial? This means that you should ToneSync should have internet access.
The tone should not take very long to download, so if you dont have it within a minute, then something is wrong. So if you got some time, we can try and figure out if the problem is with your computer, nettwork or anything like that, or wiht ToneSync. And also if we can fix it. I am a pretty experienced Windows user, but i am on my work Mac right now, so i cant verify all steps in detail. But ill try as best i can.
First, what version of windows are you running?
Make sure ToneSync are linked, and running on your computer. Go to search, and type "Resource Monitor". You can also find it under Administrative Tools. Start this program. When its running, go to the Network tab, and see if you find ToneSync in this list. Look at the recieve tab. The recieve tab should only show any activity every 20 second or so, and it should not increase a lot (a few kB at most).
Now, download a ringtone from the app (preferably a long one) and watch the nettwork usage closely. Do the recieve tab appear to be increasing a lot when you try and download a ringtone, or is it stable without any big changes?
If it does not change, it means that TS is not able to download the ringtone to your machine. If it does change, it means TS is not able to get the ringtones to your iTunes library.
Could you do this and report back here how it looks?
ToneSync currently support only one device per user account on the computer. I will take your suggestion about multiple device support to our developers and maybe it will be implemented in a furture version
First, i suggest to restart ToneSync. Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, then go to the Processes tab, find Zedge Tonesync in the list, select it and press "End Process". Then open the Start Menu, and start ToneSync Again.
Have you tried reinstalling your iTunes? If the above does not work. Close ToneSync by following the above steps. Then uninstall and reinstall iTunes. Make sure to select english language, to maximize compatibility. Then restart ToneSync.
