Hi sanguine_leo - I have had the SE W980 for around 7 weeks, and am very surprised by how good it is in all respects EXCEPT battery life, which is not good.
What I do to offset this is to hook it up by USB to my PC most nights as I'm net-surfing, and that gives it a bit of a boost to get it through another 24 hours. I am not a heavy user, so if you are, then you may have to look to something else. I have noticed that clamshells seem to be going out of favour, which is sad cos I prefer them over everything else.
This phone feels very good in my hand, is easy and comfortable to manage, and sound quality for calls and for ringtones is excellent!!
I've tried using the Theme Index (searching for a particular theme) but it cannot be used as there is no way of continuing through to all themes beginning with a certain letter, as can only access the first page of themes beginning with each letter.
This is the first time this has happened, and other indices (eg. ringtones) seem to be OK, and not affected in this way.
You can arrange your phone's screen to be however you want. Go to Settings, Display, Active Standby, then Personalise View. In this last setting you can add or remove any of the settings from the phone's standby screen. You can also rearrange them to leave your phone almost bare of icons. It's up to you.
caroly07, if you have a N6500 slide phone, then the best hassle-free method to get your theme on to your phone and working is to connect your phone to PC with USB cable, and use Nokia PC suite to drag and drop theme from PC desktop to your phone's memory card. This works fine.
Thanks so much for that, sparkplay.............. I had no idea this could be done, and have now changed music player theme to the `other one', as anything is better than the very ordinary pale blue theme.
"I tried changing my default phone model from the Gallery and it doesn't roll back to the model selected in my account settings."
I had same thing happen. My previous phone was N5300, which is same OS as N6500 slide, so have tried to record N5300 as my current phone, but this information does not stay on the page, even when I bookmark page - although it used to!!! (Am using Firefox v2 with Win XP, but don't think that's the issue, as have been using that for a few years now.)
Seems to me that the recent changes to Zedge - which were good ones - has created a minor glitch. I'm sure I'll survive!
Thanx for that _AngelGabriel_. I just checked back to My Stuff, and had only seen Delete written @ bottom of page, and not `Edit Details' inside each file's details. Duh!!
Sorry if someone has already mentioned this, but I need to be able to edit a file - say, a ringtone - once I've uploaded it, and I can't see that there exists a capability for doing this. - other than to delete it and then re-upload it, and this is messy and time-consuming.
Me too. Some themes - not many - add an interesting hue to the background in the music player, but have not found anything which changes the tedious sky blue to anyhting at all but sky blue!!!
Thanx nasabina, I think your N5300 is `normal', or standard format. Mine has 10 which are the same as yours, and an extra one placed there by my service provider, Virgin mobile, to allow direct access to their internet sites.
