MUSIC IS HARAAM

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The view of the four Imaams is that all kinds of musical instruments are haraam. It was reported in Saheeh al-Bukhaari and elsewhere that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that there would be among his ummah those who would allow zinaa, silk, alcohol and musical instruments, and he said that they would be transformed into monkeys and pigs… None of the followers of the imaams mentioned any dispute concerning the matter of music. (al-Majmoo’, 11/576).

Al-Qaasim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Singing is part of falsehood. Al-Hasan (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: if there is music involved in a dinner invitation (waleemah), do not accept the invitation (al-Jaami by al-Qayrawaani, p. 262-263).

Al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The four madhhabs are agreed that all musical instruments are haraam. (al-Saheehah, 1/145).

Abu Umamah Al-Bahili (radiAllahu 'anhu) reported:
Messenger of Allah (salla lāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, "I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing even if he is the right; and I guarantee a home in the middle of Jannah for one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for one who has good manners."

Chapter 49. Book of Injustices

I: On injustices and unlawful appropriation (ghasab)

Allah Almighty says, "Do not consider Allah to be heedless of what the wrongdoers do. He is merely deferring them to a Day on which their sight will be transfixed, rushing headlong – heads back, eyes vacant, hearts hollow. Warn mankind of the Day when the punishment will reach them. Those who did wrong will say, Our Lord, give us a short reprieve. We will respond to Your call and follow the Messengers.' 'But did you not swear to Me before that you would never meet your downfall, even though you inhabited the houses of those who wronged themselves and it was made clear to you how We had dealt with them and We gave you many examples?' They concocted their plots, but their plots were with Allah, even if they were such as to make the mountains vanish. Do not imagine that Allah will break His promise to His Messengers. Allah is Almighty, Exactor of Revenge." (14:42-47)

III: The words of Allah Almighty, "The curse of Allah is on the wrongdoers." (11:18)

2315. It is related from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Injustice will be darkness on the Day of Rising."

2322. It is related that the father of Salim said that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If anyone takes any land without right, on the Day of Rising he will be swallowed up in the seven earths."
Al-Shafi`i said: "The Caliphs (al-khulaf��) are five: Abu Bakr, `Umar, `Uthman, `Ali, and `Umar ibn `Abd al-`Aziz .

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) drew a line for us and then said: That is the path shown by Allah. Then he drew several other lines on his right and left sides and said: These are the paths on every side of which there is a devil calling towards it. He then recited this verse: Verily this path of Mine is straight so adhere it.' (5:167)

Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu 'anhu) reported:
Messenger of Allah (salla lāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, "Wealth is not diminished by giving (in charity). Allah augments the honour of one who forgives; and one who displays humbleness towards another seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah exalts him in rank."

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), when he went to bed each night, joined his hands together, blew a light spray of saliva upon them, and read over them "Qul Huwa Llahu Ahad" "Qul a'udhu bi Rabbi l-Falaq," and "Qul a'udhu bi Rabbi n-Nas"; then wiped every part over his body he could with them (hadith of Bukhari)

Narrated 'Aisha : An Ansari girl was married and she became sick and all her hair fell out intending to provide her with false hair. They asked the Prophet who said, "Allah has cursed the lady who artificially lengthens (her or someone else's) hair and also the one who gets her hair lengthened."

Abdullah ibn Mas`ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah said :
"The blood of a Muslim may not be legally spilt other than in one of three [instances] : the married person who commits adultery; a life for a life; and one who forsakes his religion and abandons the community (gama`ah) [of Islam]."
