VELAYUTHAM SYNOPSIS

Velu(Vijay) is a Village guy who stays with his widowed mother, a beautiful sister Kaveri(Saranya Mohan) and a cute Murai Ponnu Vaidhiyalakshmi(Hansikha). Due to his Sister marriage, Vijay will come to chennai to receive the amount he saved in a chit fund company. There he will meet Genelia who is a Journalist.

Genelia was earlier harassed by the misdeeds of Villain Abhimanyu Singh. He is the most influential person in the city who is an underworld mafia don. One fine day Genelia will see the accident where bunch of goons will die. She will use this incident and she creates a fictional char 'Velayutham'. When Vijay visits chennai there will be few bomb blasting incidents and he avoids all the bomb blasts without his knowledge. So people start to think that he is Velayutham.

Genelia will meet vijay & tells him about the ficitional character & Villain. Earlier, Vijay will refuse to continue the fictional charcater but later he comes to know that he is cheated by the chit fund company which runs by the villain & few common people committs suicide due to this forgery, so now our hero will wear the mask of Velayutham to stop the corruption in the city. And rest of the film speaks about how Vijay takes over villain and his gang.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s 51st movie Kavalkaran. is the tamil remake of super hit Malayalam movie Body Guard. Directed by Siddique, Kavalkaran features Vijay and Asin in the lead roles.

ANWAR

After Big B with Mammootty and Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded with Mohanlal, director Amal Neerad has announced his next venture, Anwar, with Prithviraj in the lead.

The film will also star National Award-winning Tamil actor Prakash Raj and actor/producer/director Lal, in key roles. Mamta Mohandas is the heroine. The launch of the film was held at a grand ceremony in Kochi, which was attended by the cast and crew of the movie.

The director revealed that though the film is based on terrorism, it will be different from the other films in the genre. Prithviraj, who has hailed as a superstar after the success of Puthiya Mugham last year, will shoot for the movie after completing Dr Biju's Veettilekkulla Vazhi and Vysakh's Pokkiri Raja with Mammootty.

Prakash Raj, who was earlier seen in Malayalam in Pandippada with Dileep, said that Anwar has a great script that he just couldn't refuse. Mamta Mohandas, who was last seen in Passenger as a heroine in a high profile Malayalam film, is also doing Sathyan Anthikkad's new project with Jayaram. She was paired opposite Bala in Big B earlier.

Lal, who is busy with the post-production works of In Ghost House Inn, said that Amal offered him a role that was an absolutely challenging one for any actor. According to Amal, with two directors -- Prakash Raj and Lal -- and a budding director (Prithviraj) in the cast, things will be even better this time around. The shooting of Anwar is planned for February with the release slated sometime in July.
