Before you peform this unlock you must remove the sim card and sd card or it will not reset! With the phone turned of, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefy press the POWER button. Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.

Hope it helps!
Have a nice day!

Please try again. First you have to take out the sd card from your cell phone (it is located right about the battery and will say sd right next to it). Then after the sd card is out, turn off your phone completely. Then hold down the power button, the home button, and the volume down key all at the same time. then as soon as you see the LG logo come up immediately let go and wait till the phone gives you the option of resetting or in my case my phone reset itself. But make sure the phone doesn't turn all the way on It took me a couple of times to really do it right but i got the hang of it and it finally worked. And an actual metroPCS employee helped me with this over the phone just in case some of you are iffy about trying it out.
