iphone frozen screen in restore

I was hoping if you have a solution for my iphone. I updated? it in itunes but now the screen just shows itunes logo and the usb jack. I connected it again in itune but it's asking for a compatible sim card or a supported carrier. This iphone was a gift and the sim is now gone is there any other way to fix this. my iphone is 3g t-mobile.

you have to unlock it. Done it by yourself or through any mobile unlocking shop.
