Can anyone tell me how to download songs onto the MP3 player of a Samsung E720 from my computer.

I do not have the facilities to do it by Bluetooth but I did buy the USB data cable for the phone but I can't seem to get to a stage where it lets me take songs from Windows Media Player where I have saved a couple of CD's worth of music into.

Please can you tell me if this is the right thing to do and where I go from there.

Right what you have to do is install the program called Samsung PIMS & File Manager which should have come with your USB cable on a CD (if not then go to www.samsungmobile.com and get it from there for free). Plug in your cable and if you have Windows XP it will ask you for the drivers of New Hardware (your phone). put in your cd that came with the cable and click next. if another box comes up click next again (it should be on Search for Drivers Automatically or something like that). When all that is done, go to the Control Panel, then Phones and Modems, then click on Samsung USB Modem. Click on Properties, and on the top line somewhere it should say COM number (where number is an actual number). note this down. then go to PIMS & File Manager. ignore whatever it says about going offline and port not found. take out your cable from your PC (or just disconnect from the phone which is easier) then go to File then Setup. under the CONNECT area there should be a list of COM ports. From that list choose the one you noted down (whether it be COM 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, just make sure its the right one) and under the speed choose 115000, then click OK. plug in your cable and the program should detect it. Click on File Manager (the button on top with the two arrows) and choose your file. then choose the proper folder on the phone and send it. ur done!!!!

Check also your PC's operating System if it is supported by the software you use. Windows XP Service Pack 2 is a reliable OS. GOUKI
