Not long after we had the new pc, we bought (what we thought) was a better set of speakers which were Creative I-Trigue 3200 for £50 from pc world, that was in June this year. Everything was fine until about October/November when the volume began sporadically going up and down, you would touch the volume pad to try and adjust the volume and it would go up when you turn it down and vice-versa. The volume would never stay at a constant level. there is no way of by-passing the control pad either.
After some research on forums, including the creative labs one, this is a common problem with these volume control pads, you can buy replacement pads in the US, but not if you live anywhere else.
I was missing being able to listen to my music files on the pc and even certain web pages where you need sound.
Went to pc world today armed with the purchase receipt and after the sales assistant tested the speakers with an ipod plugged in, he said he had never seen this happen before.
Pc world took them back and we had a new pair of logitech speakers, (without the silly control pad), which were £10.00 cheaper as well and just as good.
My advice to anyone if your thinking of buying creative speakers, DON'T, you'll most likely have nothing but problems. And to think the speakers only lasted less than 6 months!
