I recently purchase a K850i. Shortly after I downloaded some thm files to the ms card, the theme changed back to the original default one from time to time. Later on the cell phone powered down and whenever I tried to turn it on, the only thing on was the keypad and the blue light from the camera. The technician flashed the cell phone (virus related problem, he said). Afterwards, the same thing happened one more time, being that last time 1 week after the last flash. Now the technician's collegue says that there is no virus, but that two thm files, which the antivirus wasn't able to read, are corrupt and they are the cause for the entire thing. Is this possible? I mean, they may be corrupt due to unfinished download, but doesn't the cell phone reads the memory card for the file, the size and the extension and not its content or whether if the file is corrupt or unfinished?? Can anybody assist me with this?

first off,u cant get a virus on the k850(thats just thick)and second if the thm files were corrupt they wouldnt be able to be set,and removing the thm files that were corrupt would solve the problem.this whole thing was probably just fw related and updating the fw(which u can do through seus)would solve any problems.

Well, the "technician" claims that due to the presence of these corrupt thm files, now that's the problem. he already changed the fw, but i don't know if he updated the fw. I'll wait for the outcome. I told him to delete the files. And I tried them at home. I opened the "corrupted" files with the theme creator, and I had no problem opening the theme. It seems that since it had a ringtone as part of the theme, Eset wasn't able to read it or scan it properly. So now my bet goes to: 1) outdated or bad fw they are installing or 2) the cellphone is defective. What do you think? One more thing, how could I explain them in plain english like a baby, that virus can't get into the cell phone (plus there was no virus detected after eset scanned the ms card. Cause that part made me cracked..jajajaj

That's what I needed to hear. I could need some basic info or something to back this statement and rub it to the technician's face. I just a call from him that he's about to test the cell phone recently flashed. If the fw is the problem, have u any idea how long would it take to fail without any files at all??

if it is the fw,the best thing to do is upgrade or flash it yourself,i think the last fw for the k850 was A036 or A037.the later versions of fw supposed to have fixed a lot of bugs in earlier fw.trust me-flash it yourself, cos those technitions sound d**b

Well, I'm new at flashing. I've never flashed a cell phone. What tools or software do u recommend me?
