I have a new computer and installed itunes and music.
However when I connect my ipod it shows up but I cannot transfer songs from itunes to it.
What is the cause of the problem and possible solution?
Thank you for any help!!!

Please try to install latest version of itunes, bcoz latest versions are equipped with the reasons and solutions for any problem. But if problem still persists and If you are getting no message
explaining why specific content
is not being sent to your iPod,
you may need to reset warnings
on your iPod.
Thanx

1. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this
can fix many general iPod problems !

2. You may try this iTunes alternative, I
always use it to upload music and video
to my iPod once my iTunes can't
recognize my iPod, my friends
recommend it to me, it's safe and works
pretty well, you can also use it to copy music and video from ipod to computer
for backup, it's useful when you lost your
iTunes library www.ipod-transfer-copy.com/

3. Update your iTunes to the latest
version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes can't
recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left
corner click help> run diagnostics. On the
box that comes up, check the last two
things. Click next and it should identify your iPod. I got this method from Apple
technical support. Hope it helps. Contact
me if you have any other question.

It's because your iPod can only be synced to one computer at a time unless you enable the Manually manage music and videos option from under your iPod's summary tab. However, this method of syncing is much different from having iTunes automatically sync content for you.
So in order to sync your iPod with the new iTunes you'll need to copy the music from your iPod over to your new PC and then erase and sync it.
For more information on copying content to an iPod manually see this article how to transfer or copy music from iPod to PC
Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!

Is it possible that you have a different iTunes account for the iPod than the one you use for the iPad?
Technically, they should still transfer (as far as I know) but might not play. But since I have never owned an iPod, I cannot say for certain.

when your ipod connected to itune you scroll down then you can see sync only
check songs and video and manually manage music and video you have to choose
one either sync song or manually manage if u choose manually that u have to tick box
then apply.
