I had a lot of trouble trying to find any help on transferring your own ringtones to the new Samsung Rogue SCH-U960 without using a micro SD card but finally figured it out after some trial and error. Very nice that Verizon blocks the legitimate transfer software from Samsung from working on the Rogue. It worked once for me to get a song on to the phone but could not set it as a ringtone.
1.) Download Audacity (it's free...Google it) 2.) Download the Lame .MP3 codec (it's free...Google it. You need this to export your trimmed file) 3.) Trim your .MP3 file to less than 30 seconds 4.) Export file as .MP3 to location of your choice. 5.) Change the file extension from .MP3 to .MIDI (might have to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" under Tools>Folder Options>View) 6.) E-Mail your ringtone file to ###-###-####@vzwpix.com (where the #s are your phone number) 7.) When the message is received view it and hit Options> Save as Ringtone 8.) Enjoy the songs that you want to hear as ringtones.
Changing the file extension to .MIDI has no negative effect on the sound quality of the ringtone it just fool the phone in to letting you save it as a ringtone. |

You don't have to change the file type to .midi - you can send it as an MP3. You can also use a USB data transfer or BitPim to transfer. I don't have anything other than MP3's as ringtones.
Here is how to in BitPim: What you need. 1. U960 phone VZW 2. Bitpim 3. Bluetooth Adapter for PC
Phone Settings. Settings and Tools -> (0) USB Mode -> (1) Media Sync Mode
Bluetooth Settings Pair with PC and set to Serial Port
Open Bit Pim Set Port to the same serial port as phone Select Filesystem / -> Brew -> Mod -> 18067 -> Dump all the sound files you want here. *********CHARGE YOUR PHONE WITH THE WALL DURING THIS PROCESS****** Navigate to MsInfo.db Save to computer Open with Word pad Add the following line to MsInfo.db
/ff/brew/mod/18067/file name with extension goes here|0|5

Disconnect via blue tooth and restart phone. Attached are screen shots of the process.
