Hello fellow Rogue users.I am having a bit of trouble with this phone . I have ,jpg images but cant seem to find a program or web site to let me download them to my phone . The data cable says :" its unable to connect " to my PC. Do I need a install CD? The " nice " folks at Verizon neglected to tell me that at the time of purchase. To my dismay I have discovered the they want you to pay for everything . what happened to the days of click and drag ??? Thinking about changing back to my Iphone , Please talk me back from the ledge !!!! Thanks for your time and help

All you need to do is create an email with the attachment you want on your phone and send it to yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com <-- make sure you include your area code. You will not get charged for anything unless you don't have a text messaging plan.

Ok, another question. Are we able to save pictures from the Browser? if so, how? I haven't found a way to do it yet.

Thanks again...

No, you cannot save images from the mobile browser.

The size for the Samsung Rogue wallpaper is 800x800

I use Photoshop to re-size my pictures and then save them to my micro SD card. I you want ringtones and don't have e-mail, go to Mobile17 or Phone Zoo. They send you picture messages (without a picture) with just sound so that you can save them as ringtones.

Places like that cannot be trusted as I have heard of people having random charges on their phone bills due to getting charged a fee for using Phonezoo... that's why the option to save to computer to send to phone is always 100% trustworthy since they have no access to your phone number.

That is not necessarily true, theperfectdrug.
Ive been a paying registered user over at DDNMobile for a couple of years now, and I can make my own ringtones, my own wallpaper......Ive never had any bogus charges, no secret charges.
Mobile17 was mentioned and I was a paying user of that too, but the ringtones came too quiet, not enough volume for my old phone, my env.
(i actually made a ringtone recently for my rogue, from mobile17, and i swear it took 4 days to reach my phone. but then, i no longer pay them, so they put their paying customers first).
I cannot make a wallpaper to fit my rogue no matter what size i make it. The default wallpaper are 240x270 resolution, but i cant recreate that either.

Oh, I forgot to mention I had a question...

It seems the sizes of the wallpapers here do not fit landscape mode. They make the phone so when you open up to landscape, the background image rotates with the screen so using 480x800 doesn't give you a full landscape screen and the image just sits in the middle but portrait mode is fine. I'm trying to find the right size to get both portrait and landscape modes with full background images. I even tried 800x800 and for some reason it didn't fit correctly.

Anyone have the right size?

I finally figured it out.
take the pic, or photo that you want to fit on your rogue and use a resizing tool to resize the image to 1400 x 900.
this happens the be the size that fits my wide screen pc for wallpapers, and so i just sent a couple of my pc wallpapers to my rogue, and bam, they fit perfectly.
when the keypad is closed, the pic fits completely, and when you open the querty keyboard, it turns the image to the left and it still fits completely.
Im very happy with my phone now. and ive got some really cool wallpapers i send to my mobile, from my computer, using the previously posted recipe.....
(for verizon wireless)...(area code) (your cell number)@vzwpix.com.
perfect wallpaper for your rogue every time. 1400 x 900 !!!

cool

...forgot to add.....
it doesnt really matter what resolution size you choose for the image, or what the resolution is already set at....96, 100, whatever....its the X: Y: size that is important.
X: 1400 x Y:900.
you can increase the resolution if you want.....it just makes the image sharper...more info per pixel i guess, but its not important for the overall image that will appear on your rogue's screen.

somebody try this so I can get one of those..."dude, that is the right size. thanks bro!!"

lol

So, I already have loaded VCast with Rhapsody onto my PC and that handles all of my music transferring from my PC to phone (Samsung Rogue SCH-U960) but has anyone found away to access all of the folders on the SD card via PC without removing the card. I'd like to quickly plug my phone in with a USB cable and drag and drop to and from my_flix and my_pix folders.

I use to have Motorola phone tools which let me do all. Is Verizon so locked up that this is not possible?

Thats a great question. I, too, was able to do this with my Env, but that was after I bought all that Essentials stuff. The rouge has a usb setting that lets you change from sync mode, to modem mode, or prompt for either, but my computer doesnt read my Rogue, in usb mode, as a PnP plug in....it doesnt open any windows, any folders, any autoplay prompts.
So, obviously, Verizonwireless is not gonna make it easy to drag and drop stuff to your phone just by attaching it to your computer.
In fact, I am really amazed that you can email pictures to any verizonwireless phone by using the @vzwpix address. I am almost positive that VZW shut that ability down somehow, when I had my env.
The want you to go to vzw.com and use their picture messaging features that are located there.
Im sure, though, there is some kind of program out there, some kind of application that will allow you to read your phone when you plug it in. There was a shareware program called bit something...bitpim or byte something, (im sorry i cannot remember) that allowed your phone to be read, and you could do all that stuff with it.
I'll try and find the name of the software program and come back and tell you.
In the meantime, just get one of those sandisk adapters and pull your card and plug it into your reader slot, if you have a 5 and 1 or 15 and 1 reader ablility, and do it that way. Easy peasy, man!!

By the way, bdz1k, I never did have to install that rhapsody crap to my computer this time, with my rouge.
My windows media player found and synced right up to my Rogue, after the I went to the samsung website and downloded the U960 drivers found there.
I use wmp to do this. I hated having to use that essentials stuff, or the rhapsody software. Ive got too many media players on my computer as it is.

Thanks razzell2, my Win Media Player did not recognize the Rouge. I didn't know about down loading the drivers directly from Samsung I'll try that next. But, in the mean time time I did find some fun tips to share.

1) This site has great free ring tones. Save them to your PC, not directly to your phone. This way you can send them out as attachment to multiple users at then same time using your#@vzwpix.com. My daughter and I had hours of fun searching, listening, laughing and downloading.

2) Save the ringtones to your phone as sounds not ring-tones. This way you can send them to other friends directly from your phone (assuming the original text/email has been deleted). VZW does not let you attach ringtones when messaging but you can attach sounds. VZW also wont let you BT ringtones. You can, of course, save these sounds as ringtones or alerts.

3) After all my gripeing and looking for things like Moto phone tools or Bitpim (which does not support the Rouge that I could find). I went to Verizone's website and found V-Cast Media Manager. It's not drag and drop, you have to sync with it. But, at least I can manage my videos, photos and music between my PC and phone. And it was a free download. (+1 for vzw)
