My friend has a HTC (p3600), he made some clips, and sended them to me, thinking I could play them on my phone (SE w580i) or laptop without any problems.

Boy, was he wrong, haha.

My phone won't play them.
And neither will my laptop.

I've tried so much programs/players/converters, I lost count, but nothing worked.

Someone told me, that those clips are only viewable on the HTC they were made on?
(or other HTC's)

Is there any way at all, to convert them so I could play them on my laptop/phone?
Or some kind of software out there, my friend can install on his PDA, and convert the mp4 into something else?

(I'm new by the way, hehe, hello ^^ )

mp4 x264
(and something about 3ggp5 ?)

I've tried like, every codec out there, but it just won't work.

MediaInfo won't even show the information on those clips.

It is the audio codec that does not play in most video players outside of HTC and will either play the vid with no sound or just not play at all, however you can download and install the audio codec in vlc by going to www.free-codecs.com and downloading the DIVX codec for 3gpp and mp4
