hey guys... can you help me out? i recently lost my silver n82. i'm about to buy a new phone soon. but the thing is... i'm torn between the black N82 and black C905. i've read a few reviews but they didn't help much. your input would really help a lot.

i'm really amazed by C905's 8mp camera but it isn't a smart phone. i'm afraid that it's performance might be inferior to that of the n82. but then again, c905's 8mp cybershot might be just the thing i need. i'm really really torn between the 2. help me out. please? thanks!

cooolet,

I got my C905 a few days ago... the camera of C905 is great especially for poor light condition.. the feautures for the camera standard also included in C905 like FACE DETECTION, BESTPIC, SMILE SHUTTER, and SMART CONTRAST.PLUS THE FACT IT'S WHOOPING 8,1 MP CAMERA!!!! also the displays (menu navigation)and icons and themes, it'll give you more control on how you want to view and navigate throughout the menus .. IT'S MY OPINION... thanks and signing out..

cooolet,

p.s.

the C905 does'nt have secondary camera for video call.. you need to go infront of mirror so that the other person you are talking will able to see you..

thanks y'all...

by the way. I just bought my C905 last saturday. so far, i have no complaints. the camera is amazing! I didn't have a hard time adjusting to the new interface. (I used to own an n82).

the C905 is truly an amazing camera phone. It MIGHT even replace a few stand-alone digicams today. (emphasis on "might"). it's a decent music player as well.

what i miss though is.... the capability to watch videos online. i was able to watch youtube videos on my (now gone) n82. i just wish SE would be able to give C905 users a browser that has a flash player included. but hey... that's what laptops are for... hahaha! oh and the C905 syncs with my vaio flawlessly too... so to those who are thinking about buying the C905, and you happen to own a vaio as well, you'll have no problem in transferring files. hey keywar...

It really depends on what you're looking for in a phone.

If you want an amazing camera-phone then I suggest you buy the c905.
If video calls are important to you, then I'd get an N82.

Both phones have the same video quality.
However, the C905 has an LED light that really helps in assisting you in dark environments.
Plus... the c905 has more options/features in terms of image capturing and video recording.

If you like surfing the net on your phone, (in my opinion) the n82 is the phone of choice.
btw, you can watch videos on the web in the c905 as well but the n82 does a better job.
I had to make use of the youtube application on my c905 just so i can watch videos in youtube. the youtube application is really good. I suggest using a WiFi connection whenever you watch videos on the net.

On the physical aspect...
I really think C905 looks better and feels better.
The n82 gives you this cheap plastic-y feel.
The c905 is solid and well built
The c905 is a bit heavier but it actually worked to its advantage.
the c905 feels expensive to hold. plus, the LCD is scratch resistant.

I have the latest firmware on my c905. It now has a smile detection feature in camera.

In using the GPS, i got a more accurate result on the C905.
and (in my opinion) the google maps of the c905 is better than the nokia maps on the n82

Both have WiFi. The c905 automatically diverts all connection to the WiFi whenever you are connected to a network. It's a really useful feature and saves me a lot of money on operator charges.

The n82 has an "active desktop" which basically is a shortcut to your commonly used features. c905 doesn't have this.
organizing contacts and calendar events is much better in the n82.
messaging is better in the n82 as well but the c905 also has a few tricks up its sleeve.

standby time, call time, usage time is way longer in the c905. i used to charge my n82 daily. now, i charge my c905 every 2-3 days.

n82 is more professional. well that's a given because it's a smartphone.
considering the c905 isn't a smartphone, it surely is a feature-packed phone.

oh yeah, upgrading the software in both phones is a breeze. I was able to upgrade their firmwares without experiencing any problems. =)

hope this helps...
don't hesitate to ask if you there are things that you wanna know more about. =)

hye cooolet...
sorry i didn't reply to ur post earlier..
i juz wanna say thanks coz giving me all the infos..
but here a story want to share with you..

after i've had read ur post about those two phones..
and some other reviews..
i've made up my mind that i'm going to choose the N82..
but after 3 weeks searching for the phones..
i don't find a new N82..
all i've had encounter was only the 2nd hand..
so then, i decided to buy the C905 instead..
but then, i met a friend of mine who uses the C905..
he just use the phone for about 6 months..
the phone looks just like new..
there's no scratch at all,nothing..
i know that he has taken a very good care of his phone..
as it was the present from his father for his success in an exam..
however,he had a problem with the button..
the end call/on-off button was broken..
and the keypad is some sort of crammed..
the tactility feedback is really worst..
it reminds me of my late SE K850i - problems with the keypad, buttons, screen and the speaker, auto restart..
i just use it not more than a year =(
and my XPERIA X1 - keypad problems..
and some of my friends who use SE phones also complaints that their phones face the same problems..
W910i - screen prob, auto restart, use it just 1 year..
W902 - can't be on at all, 6 months use..
K810i - problems with the shutter button, 3 month..
K750i - camera problems, 1 year..
C902 - keypad probs, 8 month..
and some others,but i forget..
all of these make me think twice whether to buy or not the C905..
lastly, after a week more searching for a new phone..
i manage to get myself a new N95 8GB..
huhuhu3...
like it - nice big 2.8" screen..
hate it - don't have the sweet xenon flash as the N82 and C905 does..
overall, i'm very satisfied with its performance..
i'm happy with my new phones..

so,to u cooolet, and also _Smookey_..
please don't get me wrong..
i do not write this post just to condemn about SE phones..
i love the futuristic design of SE phones..
it feels cool, attractive, eye catching..
i love the camera,the messaging,the call,the flashy themes,the sound,the smart dialing..
all of these are specialized in SE phone..
while my N95 8GB is no match to those features..
and it's true smookey, i do feel that nokia phones look cheap..

whatever it is,this is my reason why i'd choose Nokia over SE..
i'm only a student, and i don't work...
that's mean i do not have much money to buy many phones just to try it..
and to repair it when it is broken or have a problem..
i choose nokia b'coz it has superb durability..
it was based on my experience..
b4 i use my 1st SE,the K850i,all of my phones were Nokia..
except my first three phones, which is Motorola..
one of them,Nokia 7610 had fallen from the 1st floor right onto the ground cement floor..
it slipped from my hand while i was using it..
though some of the plastic are damaged..
amazingly, it can be on,the screen do not scratch nor crack, and still ok until now..
i use it 4 about 2 years before i gave it to my brother and he still using it now..
and my nokia 3230 fall from my pocket onto the road while i was riding a motor..
it only scratch, and still good b4 i sell it..
and all of my nokia phones never had a problems that i faced with SE phones..
honestly,i never send my nokia phone for repair..

hm, i don't buy phones just to get upset with it just after 3 month of using it..
as it really annoying me..
i think,everyone does..
i choose to buy something that can be used for along time..
something that worth buying..
and Nokia fullfil it..

so,that's it...my story...
and my opinion about phones..
nevertheless,i do love all phones..
huhu3..=)

thanx 4 reading..;-)
