I have downloaded song to my razr v3xx. It is in a music file, how do i make it my ringtone? Please be nice, this is the first time I have ever downloaded to my phone before. I can not find clear instructions to do this and I am not a phone tech. I did notice that under file details is states that I can forward, but not apply. Does this mean that I can not use this as my ringtone? I would really like to learn how to do this.

store it on your phone and not your card...see if that works.

then go through the menu as you normally would in phone set up to set your ringtone to that file.

if it get's too hard... don't be afraid to ask for full instructions..... I'll nip by again to see if you managed it and build a file if needed.

greenleaf Thank you for your help. Thing is I had it on my phone, at the time I didn't even know that phones had memory cards. I now own a memory card and a computer adaptor. I did however manage to move the ringtone to my playlist, but when I chose that tone, my phone just prompts me "back". anyway now that I've got the mem card and adaptor I will try to download from pc. Almost a bit scared to, b/c i haven't a clue to what i am doing. Should have stayed awake in computer class 20 yrs ago. But they did not have this tech stuff then. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for your kindness.

press the left soft key at the menu then scroll down and you'll see change audio. Just select that then you can choose change ringtone and if you want it silent or vibrate or watever.

I have the same problem with my Razr V3xx. I have noticed when you look at the file details it says on the "apply line" no..........but I don't know how to change that to yes. I've had several of the same downloads on my LG CU400 and they worked fine, but only 3 of these will work on the Motorola Razr V3xx. Please help if you can. Thank you.

The v3xx series has a bitrate and length restriction, it is probably why some ringtones work and some do not.

Make sure that the file is a Mp3. that was my prob. yes and file length matters also. i have a 4:00 minute file that i cannot use a ringtone but a 5sec one will.
