Hi Guys Well I had my Blackberry Storm just over 3 Months having got one of the very first to come out in the UK on the 14Nov 2008
Had a few teething problems to be truthful but there again you always do with a new product, but after a software upgrade and a few other tweeks with sensitivity and screen tap I now have the phone working as I want. For me the beauty is the push email in real time where ever you are along with the phone security. This phone locks from all angles and had it?s own firewall depending on whether your using blackberry?s server settings.
The bugbear for me was I use a Mac at work and at home and I was going to buy the iPhone but opted for the storm, to stay with my provider Vodafone. But when I tried to sync my Storm with either of my Macs it was a total failure, which gave RIM some bad publicity and the pro iPhone users something to shout about. In all fairness to Rim they did sort the problem out in about 10 days. Apparently it was a problem with the USB drivers on MAC OS X. I can now sysnc with my Macs, which, is perfect, as it will sync, with iCal, address book, and Microsoft Entourage on perfectly.
On the big downside if you need to do a software upgrade, install/uninstall an application, themes or just back up then it?s a big NO NO, for you need to use Blackberry?s Desk Top Manager and that will only run on a Windows based PC. Luckly I do have access to a PC so it?s not to bad but for those who don?t then the storms not a good buy so RIM really need to sort this if they are to compete with the iPhone This post has been edited 1 times.
