Razr and Mobile Phone Tools

So I downloaded Mobile Phone Tools for my Motorola Razr V3 and when I plug the phone in the computer with the usb cable the computer recognizes that its plugged in but the phone tools software says theres no phone connected. any help? this happen to anyone else?

Make sure your connection type is set to Data/Fax on your phone. It should switch automatically esp if you do not have a memory card
