I think everyone is pretty much the same person online as they are in real life. The main difference is that many people feel less inhibited on the net. A shy person is probably less shy on the net. Also guys post things to women that they would never say to a woman's face.

i agree but i'd like to add that all ppl have the right to be a lil or sometimes a lot different than in real world as long as they are not fake!!
but i don't agree that Escapism is a way of perceiving unpleasant aspects of daily reality
i think is more about escape from yourself !!

(a little different isnt a "little" fake?
and a "little" fake isnt fake at all?)

We all have the right to do anything what we like, since we do not have obligations to be "urself" online or not.
The only obligations are the legal ones, and even those are in constant fluctuation.

Therefore, nobody can ask for truthness on the web, since there r no way to find out if the person online is really behaving as the person typing.
And as much we ocnsider ourselves online, our typing does not demonstrate entirely our personality and mood.
Words are empty and incomplete.

So, if words cannot entirely show us... are we ourselves on the internet anyway?

(even we say and write how we think and are?)

Curious debate indeed.

u know a lil different doesn't mean fake!! Fake means not real.
if u are a better person or more naughty on the net than in reality doesn't consider u as a ''fake''

ur fake when :
a) use an avatar of another person and claim is urs ( u've found it on photobucket)
b)telling lies about urself like '' i won 3 competitions of ice-skating and i'm soooooo rich''

then yup ur a fake
and stay 2 the topic
i won't change my mind!

a "little" fake is fake.
being fake isnt lying about some things and showing others?
theres my point.

And if u go to the web and be"nicer" and "naughtier", its fake the same.
its a good thing being better, but still fake.
made me understood?

and yes i am in topic.
as u could read in the rest of my previous post.

and yes i am proud "fake".
my name is not "richy".

The rest is authentic.
