taxes are one of the if not primary legit source of income for the government. apart from the usual scams they do spend the money on the country`s betterment

But the biggest flaw is with enforcement....In india only a fraction of ppl pay their taxes while the rest hide away. this is not fair for this little fraction of pl have to bear the burden of dishonest ppl. If there was better enforcement there wud have been lesser taxes on each individual.

Taxing is a delicate issue..the goverment will squeeze the last bit of money before ppl start ranting and come out with fire torches..high taxes are usually suicidal for goverments.(n2 a lesser extent for dictators)

taxes are important sources of government money inorder to support its populace...it acually depends if a country is wealthy enough to support its citizens, without taxes then that's better...but with those country which needs taxes..it should be transparent and the people should always be aware of the benefits they have from these taxes...most of the government spending goes to the poorest of the soceity...but taxes also support the infrastructure, food, energy, maintenance, salary of government workers, military, education, health, to pay debt and a lot more to sustain the popualation's needs in the country...
