A lot of people have vast knowledge in this world, minds full of so many interesting things
Which will fascinate others

But does that all so clever person have the power to change anything

Knowing your stuff is great, like who built this or what’s the fastest car or the best computer game

So the question

Knowing a lot is it any good to anyone. When the person can’t do anything with the knowledge

Is that a waste of talent

It all depends on what you know really, things like knowing whats the fastest car etc may impress people at partys etc but is of no value whatsoever

On the other hand, knowing 'boring' stuff can be the most valuable knowledge anyone could ever have, look at all the knowledge that's come from studies of diseases and how much better quality of life people have thanks to that knowledge... now that knowledge IS power

"Mankind have a great aversion to intellectual labor; but even supposing knowledge to be easily attainable, more people would be content to be ignorant than would take even a little trouble to acquire it. "

To say that knowledge does not empower us is akin
to saying ignorance is bliss. We attain knowledge
through education and through life's experiences.
Everyday of our lives we are faced with choices.
Knowledge allows us to make better choices. Will I
change the world with the knowledge I possess?
Probably not. Will I change my life? Yes.

To illustrate my point:
As a woman I am concerned about breast cancer. I
have first hand knowledge attained from my mother's
death from breast cancer. I also have done a lot
of reading on the disease. With this knowledge I
know that early detection is the key to beating
this dreaded disease. So I choose to have regular
breast exams. Will I have anything to do with
ending this disease. No. Will I change my life. You bet!

Knowledge is power. It's the only thing that cannot be, in any way, stolen from you. It stays with you for at least a lifetime and keeps on growing as time goes by.

Definitely, yes ... it equips one to do better, so to speak.

Without it, we'll be leaving in ignorance and usually, if that happens, a lot of things stem out from it especially HATE... if knowledge is transmitted the wrong way, that is...

So, in the end, it all remains to us on how to use it wisely... whenever we can...

As what angeliclucero have said.... Probably, I ( or we per se ), may not be able to change the world by the mere fact of having it... ( well, maybe not unless you know a lot about quantum theories and stuff ... )

But definitely, having it personally, helps me choose whatever I feel is gonna improve my life... be it in big or small things.

It ( at least ) assists me in avoiding making a major mistake. And whenever or if ever I do, it helps me correct it...

The Best Knowledge for power is self awareness. If you have self Knowledge then you are a piece of work. We only use 10% of our brains 1 more percent then we are damn there perfect. The thing is there is never to much knowledge out there to learn.
Whosoever wishes to know about the world must learn about it in its particular details.
Knowledge is not intelligence.
In searching for the truth be ready for the unexpected.
Change alone is unchanging.
The same road goes both up and down.
The beginning of a circle is also its end.
Not I, but the world says it: all is one.
And yet everything comes in season.

I agree if knowledge is power. We can do all we want with that knowledge. And because knowledge we can invent new things. If the world doesn't have knowledge, the world is nothing. This universe still keeps some secrets, so we must find out what is it.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Sorry if I made some mistakes

I don't agree on this one. Knowledge is helpful, but wisdom is power.

Knowing a lot and being able to do a lot are two entirely different things, wisdom to me is the ability to put knowledge into action, which is why I aim to be wise and not clever or knowledgable.
