Sorry, I'm still having trouble here... got to step 3 -" windows found new hardware".

3. Now put the USB cable in the phone and Pc.
--> Windows found a new hardware.
Install the hardware manual and chose the Qualcommdriver folder.
Now go to the Hardware manger ->Modems->Qualcomm, you must know the port number.

If I run the Qualcommdriver.exe file I can't find my phone...

Can anyone help?

After a great number of attempts I managed to get this to work! I have installed a couple of games, but some won't work on the phone and I get an error message. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been trying to install samsung u700 games from the mobile 9 websire...

Does anyone know wether this process of installing games may have an effect on the operation of my phone's micro SD card?

I ask because mine is no longer working properly -I can see the folders and the files in it, but I can't open the files. This happened (well, at least I noticed it happening) not long after installing games on the phone -nothing else had changed.

It might just be a dead micro SD...

Okay, first I'd like to say thnx for all the info guys.

But unfortunately im stuck on step....

6. Klick on “Filesystem” (left in BitPim).
Now can you see a blue folder, open the folder (press on “+”).
--> … retrieving

Ive checkd my port, and my diagnostics thru >hardware>DM>Moderm>
Qual moderns etc etc
It comes out as COM5.
Which i allocate, but as i click on the " + "
bitpim loads for a while with the

--> … retrieving

but after that, theres nothing, no folders which comes down or gets displayed nothing, so i right clickd the furtherst column "NAME"
and try to add random games, jave/jad/jar files using
"New Files..."

but it comes up as

"BitPim version: 1.0.1-official
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.
"

Can any explain to me the problem or what im possibly doing wrong ?
Im using BitPim V1.0.1 offical.

edit: hmmm
My phone is not detected or recognised.
but its all connected ?
im using the u700s original data cable.

2nd Edit: ok i uninstalled everything and now im stuck at the same step, only now it says
"Could not open port: (2, 'Createfile', The system cannot find the file specificed')"

any help guys ?

it sounds like to me (with a limited understanding of how this works, mind you!) that you haven't selected the right port. If everything else looks the way its supposed to, just pick different ports and see how it goes. This is the way I did it until I found the right one for me.

Hi,

I'm new to all of this, and I got my U700 yesterday..
I was looking at the few games (or actually demo's) and thought that there had to be an easier way to play games than to buy them for a few Euro. So I landed on this site and I read the excellent tutorial. But I still have my doubs.. First of all, are the games (downloaded from mobile9.com) trusted? So that nothing can happen to your phone? Secondly, I have a year of warranty, and will Samsung find out that I messed around with the system when I DO have to send it back (let us hope it never gets that far ) after I break it? (I also tried to mess with the MP3 audio volume, didn't work so put that back to original settings) Because this phone is.. well.. such a beauty.. and I hate to destroy it, but there is such a open world if it does work.

Thanx in advance,

Frank
