My battery is listed on that replacement program, but I am using this device (nokia 6230i) for almost 3 years now, and nothing has happened regarding those battery problems.
It don't heat up and there's no symptom of lifetime drops.
It lasts better that my Nokia E50 (BL-4C) battery, which the phone I purchased later than my 6230i.

The problem might happens only in some case and some release, not all that Matsushita production is defect.

Sow, if you guys happen to have battery number listed on that programme, don't worry too much. Don't be affraid of any explosion ^_^
Just call for replacement to get new battery ^_^ with longer lifetime...
