Sissoko: I'm off to Juventus

Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has claimed he is on the verge of completing a move to Juventus.

Sissoko is currently in Ghana on African Nations Cup duty with Mali and had been linked with a move to the Serie A club since the transfer window opened.

He had previously played under current Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri at Valencia and despite interest from his former club he has his heart set on a move to the Bianconeri.

'I have very good contact with Juve and my agent is in Turin to have negotiations,' Sissoko told Sky Sports.

'Yes in the next two days I think the transfer is open.

'It is a very big club and I like this team. For the future they can do very good things, that is why I want to join Juventus.'

Sissoko also said he did not have a problem with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez and was only leaving Anfield because he was frustrated with his lack of first-team action.

'I think it was not a very big problem [at Liverpool],' added Sissoko.

'I am 23 years old, I am still young so I want to play a lot of games and that is why I leave Liverpool.'

Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin faces six weeks on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Voronin suffered the injury in training earlier this week and had to be carried off the training ground.

Scans have shown the full extent of the injury and the Ukrainian international requires surgery on the problem.

The injury is set to sideline the former Bayer Leverkusen star for up to six weeks.

It means Voronin is likely to miss Liverpool's UEFA Champions League match with Inter Milan next month.

Manager Rafael Benitez has also confirmed Daniel Agger will remain on the sidelines for around two weeks, while Alvaro Arbeloa is three weeks away from a first team return with an abdominal problem.

Hmm... A Liverpool fan says that the club lacks world-class players, unlike what Man United and Chelsea are having.

He points out: "Man United have goal-scoring players like Rooney, C.Ronaldo and Tevez while Chelsea rely on Drogba and some other star players like Terry and Lampard."

"For Liverpool FC, the only two world-class or star players who I could think of are Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres," he added.

Liverpool lack world-class players? What's your say?

I think Carragher, Hypia, Finnan, Riise, Mascherano, these players can be added to that list. World class means they are up to a certain level to compete.

Of course u have to take into account that these players etc mascherano was involved in 2 UEFA champions League final ad 1 FA Cup final as well so they cannot be write off

Liverpool have class players but need stability dont like the way Rafa always changes the team, players like Torres should be playing every week.
