He started over 20 games, which is more than enough to actually prove his worth, which he didn't, like I said, at Tottenham, that level of performance is acceptable, at Liverpool, it isn't.

Whether or not Benitez was the man behind the signing is still up for debate, and he has already said that he didn't buy him.

Keane just wasn't good enough for Liverpool, and that showed, like I said, he already knew the opposition, he had players like Gerrard and Torres around him, and he just couldn't cope with the pressure.

Perhaps you're right. Still, I don't wanna write off his potential and what he has done for Spurs.

Are Liverpool gonna get more strikers? It's risky to overly depend on Torres. You've been wanting to see Villa play at Anfield, well, what's the chance?

Potential, he's 28

Well, we paid Tottenham 18.3 (potentially rising to 20.3, with add-ons, which weren't completed) and Tottenham paid us around 12 ( potentially rising to 16.3 with add-ons *goals scored* which he may very well complete) and we didn't spend any of our budget in January.

So there is a possibility, aslong as we're prepared to pay a lot for Villa. we'll have to wait and see.

The real question is, can we go the rest of the season, with Torres, Babel, Kuyt and N'Gog. With only Torres showing any presence in front of goal, the other 3 cannot be relied on to score, so I believe that we should have sold Keane earlier in the window, and given ourselves enough time to buy a replacement.

keane was a great player for spurs b4 he came to liverpool but if he got more games and more goals he wud still be at anfield now and also we shud have spent some money on strikers in he january transfer window coz torres will get injured sumtimes and then we will have ngog , babel + kuyt who arent scoring much this season

Keane was a hindrance, 7 goals was not enough of a return, he used up a position on the pitch, watching him play, you never believed that he would score.

FYI Kuyt has scored 7 this season, which is the same as Keane.

Keane couldn't have had many more games, for the amount he contributed, it got to the point where we were hindering the team, by playing him.

Oh, that's bad, Deyykar. You're looking down at a 28-year-old footballer?! Age does matter?

Half a season at Anfield is considered real short, and you actually hoped he left earlier?

What makes you feel that Villa can fit in Rafa's system? Kuyt, though not really a consistent player, when needed, he can deliver.

Agreed! To be honest, I do not think that Rafa gave Keane a chance.....Liverpool rely too much on Gerrard and Torres.....and I know ppl say this over and over again BUT it is the truth! As for Rafa, I believe that he has lost the plot....seriously.....

Liverpool need a decent striker and infact, even more so a WINGER...a decent one!

You can't really say that a 28 year old has "potential" at that age, he either has it, or he doesn't. Keane just couldn't hack it at a top team. End of.

And Villa is one of the best strikers in the world, I'm pretty sure he would slot in nicely next to Torres, or just behind him.

Keane started over 20 games and scored 4 goals, that was his chance, for 20 mil, we expected more of an impact, he couldn't deliver.

Gerrard and Torres are both ranked in the top 10 players in the world, so yes, we expect them to deliver a lot. Besides, Alonso, Mascherano and Riera are also very competant, and Carragher/Hyypia/Agger/Skyrtel (Choose appropriate combo) are also very sturdy, as is Reina.

We have a decent winger in Riera, but the right is seriously lacking, so a right winger is essential. I've been crying out for Joaquin for the last 5 years, but Benitez likes his Kuyt.

Benitez has made some odd decisions, he was right over Keane, he was right about Ferguson, but his timing has been off. He shouldn't have made the comments about Ferguson after the Gerrard tirade, and he sold Keane on the last day of the window, leaving no time for a replacement.

Again, 6 months, 28 ghames, 20 starts, 7 goals, 20 million. Those figures add up to Keane being a huge let-down, having had a good crack at establishing himself as a great striker. Keane blew it big time and Rafa was 100% correct in getting rid.

Everton didn't want to play football, they went out to hurt Liverpool. And it worked.

Gerrard picked up an injury, which was unfortunate.

Leiva got sent off. To be honest, the standard of the yellows that he recieved, half of the Everton team should've been having early showers.

The referee was poor, Everton were second rate, Liverpool were unfortunate (but should've been better, I still think that Lucas and Dossena should be flogged ASAP)

FA Cup was 3rd priority for Liverpool this season, we want the league. So we'll just have to win that instead
