BPL

good news guys...!!!!!

Liverpool vs Chelsea
2-0

Fernando Torres struck two late goals at Anfield to sink Chelsea and ensure Liverpool kept up the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester United.

The game looked destined for the draw that would have suited only Sir Alex Ferguson until Torres made his dramatic intervention to close the gap on United two points ? although Liverpool have played a game more.

Chelsea saw Frank Lampard sent off on the hour for a foul on Xabi Alonso, a decision they contested bitterly as they claimed he took the ball first before making contact with the Liverpool midfield man.

But they can have no serious complaints about the result after Liverpool dominated throughout, taking the game to Chelsea in a game played out in blizzard conditions.

Torres broke the deadlock two minutes from time when he headed in a near post cross from Fabio Aurelio, then set the seal on the win in stoppage time with a simple finish after substitute Yossi Benayoun had robbed Ashley Cole.

he's my man.....i luv him... ^_^

Right result, Liverpool dominated throughout, Lampard shouldn't have been sent off but Riley had a dreadful game both ways.

Lets keep this up

Keane said 'Bye' while Torres continues to shine.

The 2-point gap at the moment is something. The one game in Devil's hand is extra-thing. Are Liverpool fans here still optimistic of the present title race?

Sorry to hear this from you. I'd feel that the Irish striker was not given much chance to prove himself.

7 goals in 28 games after 6 months. That's just over 9 games every 2 months. He scored in every 4th game, and average around a goal a month. For 20 million, you expect more than that. He was useless, couldn't fit into our system, and to change the system to accomodate, Keane, it would mean hindering Torres.

We bought Torres for 20 mil, and we got our money's worth, We paid a similar amount for Keane, and he was as useful as a glass hammer, he showed once or twice what he could do, but apart from that, he just used up a position on the pitch.

The amount of games I watched, and saw him fluff a pass or shot, was incredible. Every time, i thought "we paid 2o million for that fluffed shot"

At Tottenham, he can score once every four games and everythings great, but for us, that's not enough to get into the first team permanently, and not enough to oust Torres.

We should never have bought him, 40 mil on Villa, would be better value than 20 mil on Keane.

All this about "he didn't get a good chance" or "he didn't get a fair crack of the whip" is bull, Keane had his chance to finally show that he can play for a top team, and he blew it.
He's been playing in this country for the best part of a decade, so he knew the opposition, he was surrounded by quality players, better players than Tottenham, so the excuse is that Benitez didn't give him a chance, well 28 games suggests otherwise.

Of the 28 games, was Keane at the starting line-up? Or most of them, he played sub?

Instead of pointing fingers at Keane for not performing, why isn't Rafa being 'shot' for the purchase? Oh, do not tell me that it's against his will to get the Irish forward.

Useless is a heavy word against Keane, given his contribution at White Hart Lane. Perhaps Anfield just isn't his right place to shine, and he made a wise decision to return to Tottenham Hotspurs. Frankly speaking, I did expect Keane to do something for Liverpool, but... Now that he's left, I guess he'd do his best to ensure the club stay out of relegation zone.
