asian_prince, the phones may be similarly named, but the 6230i is a much more up-to-date version, because it has been rethought and redone:

Post quote:

6230/6230b have VGA (640X480)cameras and the 6230i has a 1.3 megapixal (1280X960) camera. Screen resolutions are both 65,536 colors but the 6230i sports 208X208 pixels as opposed to the 128X128 pixels the 6230/6230b. 6230/6230b have an internal memory of 8MB and supports of to 256MB MMC capacity (as suggested by Nokia and without firmware updates) and the 6230i has 32MB of internal memory and supports up to 512MB MMC capacity without firmware updates.

The improvements of 6230i over 6230...

* The new, dedicated "center / select" button on 6230i to make it as a 5-way navigational key.

* Camera now has a 3x digital zoom and support direct print via USB and wireless (BT / IR) and it can capture images at resolution up to 1280 x 1024 pixels.

* Video capture resolutions at 176x144 or 128x96 pixels (QCIF or SubQCIF), 15 frames per second and it can store longer clips (up to 1 hour, depending on the available memory), exceeding the 4-minute limit in the original 6230. Also, voice recording clips has increased from 3 minute to 1 hour of length.

* Internal memory has increased from 6MB to 32MB (26MB accessible for multimedia files), so it can store more files and phone book contacts. Expandable memory: Officially supports MMC / RS-MMC up to 512MB while many have been using as much as 1GB.

* Othe new features... 3-D animated graphics in the menu, improved Calendar with Weekly View, PTT, Visual Radio, MMS OMA 1.2 supports up to 300kB MMS (vs. 100kB with the original 6230).

The phones may look and feel the same, but there has been a serious revamp in terms of internal working and core features. Hope this helped.

I think theres also a version of Symbiam software name Symbian OS 6.1 which 3600,3650,3660 & 6600 first use, but it can upgrade to Symbian OS 7.0 as well ...But 6680 & 6681 has very little softwares...

The 6680, like the 6630, has the largest current collection of software currently produced, from first hand knowledge i know. Only now are third edition apps catching up in terms of sheer number and variance.

It's the 6600 that has the least compatibility since it's one of the oldest.
