Recently i installed FC5 on my PC running on AMD Athlon 3000+
and has 512+256 DDRAM.I got this DVD sometime back with LFY(Linux for you) magazine. and now while trying to rebuild the kernel(i'm beginner here) i found that the souce files are missing as there was nothing in
/usr/src/kernels
and also the symbolic link to `uname -r` in /lib/modules/build is also broken.

Help me folks.

I think your Asus Radeon A700 64MB graphics card simply can't handle the game. Sims 2 game engine has been around for a while but it can still put a huge strain on most older budget graphics cards even at the lowest screen resolution (1024x768, I guess). You need to pair a capable DirectX 9 video card with decent CPU to play at acceptable frame rates.

Getting the latest ATI Catalyst Driver will not solve your problem. Maybe it's time for you to start thinking of tossing your old video card and start looking for a new one.

that is a typical beep code for AMI and AWARD BIOS
in which case is usually related to a Video Card or part of the hard drive memory but not to get into nitty gritty technical stuff

temp solution which is or should be the first is

to use your onboard video

i do not recommend just removing the installed Graphics Card, it can be done but major problems can occur in the operating system if done when and or if you installed a new graphics card

you must first remove the Graphics card driver
"this applies to any device that has been installed that is no longer functioning or has been permanently removed"

use the onboard video to boot into the Operating System, remove the Graphics Card driver, if your not comfortable doing so, allow someone whose capable of doing so to do it for you, then remove the Graphics Card

2nd solution is to buy a new Graphics Card

been awhile but the info is here if you still need it
