---hey there pplz, i have a motorola e770v and there is a problem when connecting the phone to pc via usb . the connection works fine when it is set to memory card , but when it is set to phone, the phone isnt recognisable by the pc. i tried installing drivers, installing with the default windows driver installer, tried software tools but still isnt reconising. if someone out there had a similar problem and found a solution, post a comment ---

The only time you need to set it to "phone" is if you are using P2K software or Motorola Phone Tools. Other than that there is no reason because your PC cant access the Phone file system.

I had the same problem too with my e770. Anyway, with regards to you question,

1) make sure that you have your pc booted up and the usb cable attached to your phone ( default connection : memory card)
2) switch off your e770 and switch it on again.

your should see your files stored in e770 by now.
Try it

I get this too. When connected in data mode, Windows just goes, d-d-dong... ding-dong... and repeats, never establishing a connection.

Switching the phone off and on does jack.
