The wav file must be under 180kbps (bitrate) and just so you know MP3's have to be under 192kbps (bitrate) to work.

Hum.. is this phone branded? in other words did you buy it directly from a service provider? Reason I ask is the WAV function could have been disabled. If your service provider does not support WAV files (as in sell them for you to download) they may have removed the ability to play them from the phone. T-Mobile does this, Motorola phones (newer models) can play ACC, MP4 etc, but T-Mobile when they modify the software remove these functions and the phones can only play MP3 and 3GP.

Um, just my opinion drlove but why not just put mp3's on your phone? Mp3's are smaller in size and most phones and service providers support them... I have an E398 which is a ROKR without iTunes, and I use mp3's on it all the time. Just a suggestion! If you only have wav files btw, you can use Audacity (google search the name), which is freeware to open the wav files and then export them as mp3's. Hope I've helped in some way.
