Then which anti virus is effective for N80??Currently i'm using F-Secure and i haven't detected any virus yet... and i haven't tried uninstalling it yet..But i'm finding for a good anti virus software..any recommendations on N80?

all the antivirus are effective, subject to the issue, you update them regularly

i had use Mcafee & Netqin. but actually both works quite well, it is just tat they requires update in a short while.

The N80 doesnt affected by the viruses so easily, bcoz it uses the Symbian 9.1 OS, it is less virus tat can attack the platform. Among the phone tat using the platform is N73, N91, 3250, N80, N93, 5500, N71, E50, E60, E61, E62, E61i, E70...

The only platform tat causes virus easily is Symbian OS 7.0.

i read every reply to the problem EFFECTIVE ANTI VIRUS. i gotta say i have a nokia 6680 and i have installed mac free anti virus on that. and believe me it has been workin just brilliant.or else u can download the nortan antivirus .its good but not like tha mac free. you can download free anti virus software from www.mobile9.com. try it. u wont regret it.

mostly all mobile anti-virus are all effective ..maybe you can try ds forum. Lots of effective anti-virus download for your Sony & Nokia Symbian phones >Snip No Warez<

no antivirus for cell is effective they only slow up ur cell and occupy unnessary space plz don't don't download anything frm the net , bluetooth and devices who send u messages evey now and then second people purposely use bluetooth to send viruses and keep clearing ur cookies imediately after u finish using gprs
no aantivirus is effective i had purposely installed virus files in my cell and then scanned through every virus scanner tren micro , f secure , mac affee etc no of then manged to catch a single virus i do this expreiment very often

All Av are good..but not as effective as they should be.. you should try searching for AV with a real time scanning capability... uhm.. i recommend McAfee. its much better than any of the Av u could find

All ZEDGERS, Read This Inform of antivirus aplication which I have been tested with :

McAffee : Running Perfect only in background on ur 6680, 6630, N70 up, but if u put in other Memory card which infected with virus (CommWarrior) ur phone will be infect to .But on ur 7610,3230,6600 down phone series will be run slowly and u will be angry when turn on ur phone after off

Simwork Antivirus : Running Perfect for all of S60 v1 & v2, but virus can infect into ur phone and ur antivirus will be delete by the virus (specially CommWarrior)

NetQin : Aha... This antivirus were absolutly run perfect for all Symbian 60 Phone Series v1,2&3 which running in background but same as McAffee if u put in other infected MMC the aplication will be get and deleted the virus files but ur phone will be restart and virus are infect again in ur phone.Do u want this case were continousty Delete and Restart... Delete and Restart all of day?

F-Secure : This antivirus aplication which always included on all New Nokia Phone S60v3, never tested it cose there are no viruses for S60v3 (maybe). My Opinion, this antivir aplication same as SimWork Antivirus which not running in background like McAffee and NetQin

Antivir with Umbrella icon : Running good on all S60v1&v2, and for S80 (9300, 9300i & 9500) too. But virus easily infect ur phone, cose not scan anything files when ur phone was on transfer progress via bluetooth

Other Antivir like CommWarrior Remover, Caribe Remover etc : No Effective cose there are not running on background, not clean remove ur phone virus files etc. Dunno what for, cose there are no effective and I have no idea why this aplication was on it

Now all that u have to do are choice Antivirus aplication for ur phone which compatible with it, no need installed much of antivirus aplication.

Tips

1. Do not let ur bluetooth always on, just turn off ur bluetooth after sending or receiving files.
2. Check other phone which u want to send or receiving files, is the phone infected or not. Its easy, just check at Aplication manager >> if there commWR, caribe, commwarrior, or decoding name with any 0-9&a-z file installed the phone were infected.
3. Check other MMC which u want to put in to ur phone with ur PC, on system >> apps >> if on there have a folder name ww#.anything.co#, CommWR, commwarrior, update just delete the folder. Delete folder bootdata on ur MMC >> System folder cose there are viruses system to cloning the virus files. Delete CommWR.*, RecComm.*, *Comm*.* from ur System >> Recogs folder.
4. If ur phone infected by virus, back up all of ur phone data (phone book, picture, etc to ur MMC. Soft reset ur phone with code *#7370# + ur phone code. Then do step 3.

Remember some of person were always make problem with anything we use like PC or Cell Phone. And there a no any effective antivirus which running perfect like GOD Act
