Zedge now has a new zero tolerance policy on nude/adult wallpaper/theme uploads.

If any such uploads are found, the uploader will be banned immediatly _without_ warnings.

This policy is also stated in the upload form.

If your account is banned, you cannot sign in again, and you cannot sign up with that e-mail address again.

If any of you find any such uploads, we would be glad if you can notify us - and we will take the neccessary actions.

I noticed that some uploads are allowed and some are not. Zedge might want to go into detail about this.

Of course one has to consider that ones Porn is not anothers porn. I post thong, bikini pictures, these are not porn, however some might consider them to be a bit risky. I think the rules should reflect it like so:

If you can see private parts (female or male genitalia its porn).

I agree with bupahs. Bikini and thong isnt porn but if male/female genitalia can be seen its porn. I've seen some pictures that in the cartoon/drawn section you can see full frontal. Is it that since it isnt a real person and its a cartoon its ok?

As someone who has been coming here for awhile (had to reregister, however, due to a domain going belly up), I have to question the reasons for this.

I can see the point of keeping it from children, but I know there are adults that enjoy this sort of thing. If it's due to possibly offending people, you might also want to consider removing all religous references in uploads too.

People that aren't christian could become offended by any representation of Jesus, or the holidays revolving around said religion. The same could be said for the non-jewish faith and the Menorah (sp?), Star of David, etc... Then you have the issue of people that can be offended by other logos, such as pentagrams, pentacles, skulls, etc.... that would be deemed offensive due to the 'satanic nature' of those images.

I can see the point of separating areas up, due to possibly offending someone, but just doing a blanket covering of 'this is not allowed' makes me question why, and simply offends me. I come here for the wide variety of images available, and while the adult section is not my 'cup of tea' I can't very well say I agree with denying someone the privlige of downloading what they like. It would be the same as they being allowed to tell me I can not download something I like to my phone. While the removal of those types of links may not be affecting me directly, I have to also agree with bupahs in that one person's definition of porn is not anothers. Artistic nudes, I do not consider porn, no matter how 'revealing' the image is.

Why should the entire community be subjected to a wide blanket statement, when they were not the ones offended/affected by it? If you want to remove it from the general public that's fine, but at least give the community the ability to choose for themselves.

The simple fact is that children use this site aswell as adults.It is illegal for under 18s to look at or purchase pornography. Zedge would be failing its obligation to protect its younger users if adult ie porn
was allowed on here.

hmmm, this issue seems to be stirring up some contreversy! In my personal opinion i feel that if zedge were to ban the porn, then one would also have to ban other offensive wallpapers as shadowlore mentioned (like the one of Jesus smoking a joint!!!). To be quite frank i was disgusted by the porn that was in the all categories gallery the other day however some ppl will have an entirely different reaction. Hence i feel the best possible solution would be to create an entirely seperate gallery (adult or whatever) for such pictures and it should not be shown in the all catergories section! This way, one would enter such a gallery know whats coming. This way ppl who find porn their cup of tea can enter, and those who dont can avoid it! its all about peaceful coexistance!!
