No there isnt.

The Z800i is well over 18 months old now, it is a rather old, obsolete model, which is why its camera is not as good as newer phones.

I dont doubt you got a brand new phone, and possibly it was only released 4 months ago in your country..

..however, in the UK where i live, the V800i was released on November 2004, it had been in production at the same time as the K700i, which puts it back to early 2004, maybe even 2003. It doesnt suprise me at all the camera isnt as good as the latest cameraphones.

The V800i is the Z800i, its simply renamed and branded because it was exlusive to the Vodafraud network for 6 months last year.

Nothing wrong with the Camera in my V800, bought new 3 weeks ago. Very good for a 1.3Mp. Make sure you choose the appropiate settings ala: Picture size / Picture quality, from the Camera menu.

Megapixel ratings are a hardware issue not a software one.

Yes, V800 / Z800 is old in some markets (only 8 months old in NZ) but not obselete. SE have yet to announce a newer clam with similar or better spec to my knowledge.

IMO, the V800 is a very good looking, high quality, impressive phone.

Does anyone know if you lose any picture quality when saving a pic from phone to PC via BT? Is it better to do so by USB or does it not matter?

thanks carkitter, now its working very nice.. actually just turn from nokia to SE, phew SE camera more good than my old nokia 6670 even though both have same 1.3MP..

actually z800 is new in my country but V800 is available for an AP set which is the warranty for the ser came from the local company, not the original company but however the phone is still original.Do you get what i mean here. So they give me the V800 black colour vodafone but i just change the software to Z800 and now it's cool man.

Just want to ask some question from you, is the application that i use in Nokia before can be used in SE phone such as application for media(smart movie), files(Fileman/SeleQ) Audio(Mp3 players). Do you guy have any of these software for the SE phone. I need it.
One more is, do the SE phone support only 3gp format video? how if i want to play wmv video's or rm video's? is the any software to support it?

By the way carkitter, i get 32MB memory stick when i bought that phone, how about you? I suppose to get 64MB memory stick right cause all my friend said that all the phone if u buy now that support MMC or memory stick, you will get 64MB,is that i have been cheaten.

thanks

@ carkitter - no, sending a picture by Bluetooth does not affect the picture quality - why on earth would it ?

@ bondroes - you wont find any of those apps for your new phone. Your old Nokia phone was a smartphone, the V800i is not, its just a standard mobile phone. Only Java apps can be installed, and they're pretty limited compared to the apps you installed on your 6670.

The good news is, is that the V800i will play 3gp and mp4 files, of higher quality than you could on your old Nokia phone. If a file is in wmv format, you'll need to convert it to 3gp or mp4 first.

If i remember right, the phone only comes with a 32mb Duo stick anyway, but it supports Pro Duo sticks up to 2GB.

well my old nokia phone also still can play mp4 video but with some software support. but just to ask here, i have download some video clip from dvd and ripped it to 3gp format. but when i watch it either in my phone or in computer, it's not very clear and some the green thing like box seems to be appear in the screen of my pc and phone too. any comment on making a good 3gp or mp4 video. sometime i download some 3gp video from the net and it seems to be clear but as you know, not all the video that we want can befound on the internet.

thanks man for the info,ya i know it can support until 2GB but as for me 512MB also is enough, but need some time to buy it..

ok bye

V800 sold standard here with 32Mb MSPD. Some special deals have included 512Mb card, but stocks of these were gone when I purchased mine so I missed out and had to buy 512Mb card at NZ$139 extra.

Haven't moved video's from PC to V800 yet so can't help there.
Have sent 3GP from V800 and K700i to PC and opened with Quicktime.

@etaab
Err... just wondered. If the BT signal was interrupted by Electrical / Radio interference, surely the signal would be degraded resulting in loss of picture quality.
My new V800 has USB cable in the pack so now I have option of USB AND BT for picture transfer.

Heh, no. If something is streamed like a video or audio source, then the quality might degrade.

But a simple file transfer cannot be affected in that way. If the signal was cut or degraded too much during a transfer, it would simply be aborted and whatever had already been received automatically deleted.

At the worst for example, you'd get a fraction of a picture, such as only 20% of it, but the actual image quality has no direct relation to wireless communication.
