I got a SE V800. It sometimes prompts INACTIVE SIM then it automatically restarts. i was told that changing the firmware to Z800 might help. So far it didnt and it became worse. The signal drops to NO NETWORK when the clamshell is closed but it recovers if i open it.

Has anyone experienced this kind of problem with their Sonyericsson clamshell phones? Please give me your opinion and suggestions ASAP.

Please and thanks!!!!

I doubt its anything to do with the handset, but the network you're using the phone on. Which network are you using, and in which country ?

Had this phone before and it really has poor signal. are you using the original memory card or did you change?

I am from the philippines using globe telecom sim card. i tried putting a different network sim and it still drops when clamshel is closed.

I am still using the standard 32mb memory stick. Does changing the memory stick affect the signal of the phone?

thanks for the reply guys!!!

It simply sounds like a case of poor coverage in your area by your operator.

The firmware and memory stick shouldnt have any poor effect on the phone signal strength.

If the phone is like this with any operator, in any area even built up cities, theres always the chance of there being a hardware problem with the phones aerial, but i doubt that be true.

I've heard about this problem on another forum.
It's a hardware problem and can be fixed under warranty if your warranty is still valid. Flashing your phone with software different to your original operator software will probably invalidate your warranty.
