Hello!!
I'm maybe going to buy a SE v800. As u know, this phone is simlocked by Vodafone. And because of vodafone, something called DRM is installed on the phone.
Because of the DRM, you can only download mp3ringtones from vodafone to use them as a ringtone. Mp3's you place on it by e.g. cable won't function as ringtone.

When I let the phoneshop remove the simlock, will the DRM be removed as well?? Or do I have to change the firmware also to Z800??

Thanx in forward!!

If you're buying the phone basically new, why not just buy a Z800i ? same phone, no branding, less restrictions.

If you're buying a V800, because for some reason you've got a good deal on it (second hand?) or because the Z800i is not available, you'd need to have the phone flashed with unbranded firmware, using the links Shnoob posted.

Its fairly easy to do, all you need is a little money to get it done.

Thanx for your answers!

I can get the locked v800 for only 120 euro's, second hand but never used and brandnew

But the idea of the DRM sucks!

When I flash the phone, do I have to remove the simlock first?
